Salam and hello! I’m Solafa Ahmed,

Registered Psychologist

A client once shared a quote by Ram Dass that deeply resonated with me: “We’re all just walking each other home.” I often think about this quote when I reflect on the privilege of supporting people through some of life’s most challenging and meaningful moments. Every time someone shares their story with me, I feel honoured by the trust they place in me.

I believe that each of us carries strengths and resilience within us, even though these qualities can sometimes feel difficult to access during times of stress, loss, trauma, or uncertainty. My role as a psychologist is to create a warm, trusting, and judgment-free space where you can feel heard, understood, and accepted. I believe therapy is not about having all the answers, but about working together to better understand what you are experiencing and finding ways forward that feel meaningful to you.

My therapeutic style is eclectic and collaborative. I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and mindfulness-based practices. I tailor my approach to each individual, recognizing that no two people or journeys are exactly alike.

For me, counselling is about meeting you where you are and walking alongside you as you explore, heal, and grow. Whether you are navigating a difficult transition, struggling with anxiety or low mood, processing painful experiences, or simply feeling stuck, you do not have to navigate it alone. My hope is that therapy can help you reconnect with your strengths, develop greater self-understanding, and move toward the life you want—at your own pace and in your own way.

And when I am not working, you will often find me reading Arabic fiction and non-fiction novels, watching crime and law shows, or enjoying precious time with my beautiful daughters. These simple moments outside of work are a reminder to me of the importance of connection, curiosity, and finding joy in everyday life.

I look forward to hearing your story and, in my small way, being part of your journey home.
