Hi, I’m Mary Makowski (Registered Psychologist)

I am passionate about helping teens and adults learn to step away from shame and learn to love themselves. I especially love working with the Neuro-Divergent population, as I am also a fellow ADHD-er.

I work with teens and adults, and I find it can be very valuable to bring in my clients partners and family members to assist the journey of healthy living. I feel especially privileged to help clients advocate for what they need from the world, and find ways to care for themselves even in the face of adversity.

At my core, I believe in creating a space without judgement, so that we can mindfully build up your helpful strategies (and find those not so helpful patterns to help you step away from self-sabotage).

When I am not at work, you will definitely find me competing in something (or making it a competition with myself). I am very passionate about volleyball, bouldering, crafting, and video games. A fun fact about me is that I am the youngest of six siblings, so I am used to chaotic environments and being a keen observer. Regarding my other experiences, I have a Masters of Education in School and Applied Child Psychology from the University of Calgary. I also have a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Degree in Psychology from the University of Victoria. Before becoming a Psychologist, I spent many years as a Support Worker and Custody Supervisor in British Columbia.
